Inside the magnificent tent, the mystic retro set is enhanced with a touch of modernity. In this theatre, the proximity with the performers gives the audience a glance into the circus way of life. Cirque Maroc is really intimate in every way and a hush descends on the crowd as a crazy and funny-looking bunch of acrobats carry on with their risky performances.
The audience, seated in a circle around a slightly-elevated stage, is in full view of all the action evolving around the room, and performance acts are unfolding on centre stage, just a few meters away from the furthest rows. It feels as if the acrobats, clowns and performers have invited you into their own private little corner of the world, and as if the musicians and performers are dead-centre in the ring of « the remarkable Cirque Maroc ».
The crowd is held spellbound as they watch the adorable circus clowns of Cirque Maroc doubling as trapeze artists, working solo and duo.
Clearly influenced by the circus-vaudeville-music hall-burlesque and cabaret era of the 1920’s and 1930’s, Cirque Maroc makes the «old» look like new and the «new» just a little older and funnier.
